FVAC Hosts its Summer Youth Arts session at FVAC Campus

Avon, CT -- The Farmington Valley Arts Center invites young artists to join the FUN at FVAC with youth classes beginning in May.  The summer instructors begin sessions early in the season to offer afternoon classes through June.  Instructors Joan Shackford and Greg Orfanos will offer units for ages 4-7 and 12-17 years, while the summer program will target ages 6-15 years.

FVAC is excited to bring on board a group of new instructors to the summer program beginning July 6th with daily sessions through August 13. FVAC Summer Arts Camp (SAC) is a week long camp session from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. daily for ages 6-15.  Campers enjoy exciting half-day creative exercises in visual arts, ceramics, sculpture and photography.  Classes are among FVAC studios for students to experience the inspiration of all FVAC artists. Creative sessions are held in our classrooms, the galleries and outdoors (weather pending) to engage in the entire FVAC experience.

Campers and families looking for additional information for registration can visit FVAC at 25 Arts Center Lane, Avon, CT 06001, or www.ARTSFVAC.org to download registration forms.  Visit FVAC on June 5, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with our First Saturdays Open Studios and workshops to register in person.

The Farmington Valley Arts Center (FVAC) was incorporated in 1974 as a not-for-profit organization.  In the belief that artistic expression and creativity are vital to daily life, FVAC connects the community to the creative process through arts education for people of all ages, support and encouragement of working artists, and serving as a community resource for exposure of the arts.  The Arts Center is a vibrant arts community that enables visitors to experience the entire creative process, from seeing artists at work to viewing finished creations in a gallery to learning the skills necessary to create works of their own.
